Michaela Wyse, LCMHCA

Psychotherapist

Each person has a unique path and reasons which lead them to therapy. It can be both scary
and empowering to enter into therapy: I want to commend you for your strength in taking this
step and encourage you in your process. My name is Michaela, and I recognize that therapy is a
process—one which I would be honored to be a part of should you choose to invite me into your
life’s journey.

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina.
Preceding my graduate studies, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities with a focus in
International Community Development (2019), where I participated in ethnographic studies
throughout Europe and Trinidad, and worked extensively with Third Culture Kid populations. I
graduated with a Master of Arts in Counseling at Columbia International University in 2022,
during which I received training in TF-CBT. In that time, I worked with diverse demographics
addressing mental health and behavioral issues including but not limited to: issues related to
symptoms of anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, attention disorders, marital and
relational conflict, grief/loss, trauma, body image, identity formation, cultural and life transition,
and substance abuse.

My education and work is driven by a profound passion to help others explore, heal, and move
forward into changed lives. I work with my clients to recognize and resolve root issues and
pursue customized treatment goals set in therapy. While I operate from a foundation in
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)—made eclectic by elements of Narrative and Art Therapy
—I adjust my approach in order to best meet the needs of each individual. After all, there is no
one else in this world who is exactly like you! I look forward to meeting you.
