Maigan Monsanto, LCSWA

Psychotherapist

I am a client-centered, bilingual, and bicultural therapist exploring the opportunity to serve individuals across different age groups. Currently, I work with children, adolescents, and young adults ages 25 and under who are navigating anxiety, depression, mood dysregulation, grief/loss, and trauma. I’m passionate about creating a safe, culturally responsive, and supportive space where individuals can express their emotions and build the skills they need to manage life’s challenges.

I earned my Master of Social Work from Herbert H. Lehman College in 2022. During graduate school, I worked in a Residential Program based in New York City, where I supported individuals diagnosed with severe mental illnesses such as Bipolar Disorder, Schizoaffective Disorder, Schizophrenia, and Major Depressive Disorder. I began my journey in 2018 and spent five years providing intensive in-home services, honing my skills in motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution-focused therapy.

In 2023, I took a leap of faith and moved to North Carolina to work as a Post Release Worker. In this role, provided support and resources to immigrant children and adolescents recently arriving in the United States, helping them adjust to their new lives. Later, I joined a Transitional Foster Care program as a Bilingual Therapist, which focuses on reuniting recently arrived minors with their families. I’ve had the opportunity to offer trauma-informed care using trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and play therapy.

As a bilingual therapist, I am committed to delivering culturally diverse and inclusive services that honor each individual's unique background and lived experience. My goal is to help individuals understand that they are not alone and that it’s possible to get through emotionally distressing situations. I want to empower them to seek support, reframe their mindset, and develop healthy coping strategies that foster growth and healing.
