C. Michelle Hamilton
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor
I have been honored to provide holistic mental health services in various roles within the counseling field for 25 years. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor in North Carolina, and an Approved Clinical Supervisor. My theoretical orientation includes a culturally-competent approach to trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy, play therapy and solution-focused interventions tailored to client needs. My areas of competence include exploration of grief in relation to anxiety and depression, resilience after trauma, strength based skill assessment, and cognitive reframing.
I utilize feedback informed to maximize session time together, research approved interventions to support progress towards goals, and rapport building to establish a relationship based on trust. The foundation of my approach to counseling is the belief that healthy risk-taking, fostering change, and developing habits to sustain overall health starts with a trusting relationship. If you are looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you are ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
