Licensed Clinical Social Worker //
Shannon Bienkowski, LCSW
I have worked in the human service field for 15 years. My experience includes working with children, youth and families, in a variety of different settings to include outpatient partial hospitalization programs, inpatient hospital, child protection services and also within a clinical day treatment school, providing support for students with intellectual disabilities and mental health diagnosis's. In each of these settings, I have worked with individuals and families who struggled with complex mental health issues, substance abuse and domestic violence issues.
I believe in providing counseling from a strengths based model, pulling from a person's network of tools that they already have and continuing to build on them. I also believe it is important to build a positive therapeutic rapport in order to establish and reach goals. I feel it is imperative to look at the whole picture of what is going on with someone to help understand what will help them feel better, including nutrition, physical health and exercise.
